Dinithi Wijayasiri

Research Assistant

Dinithi completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. Deeply passionate about wildlife and biodiversity conservation, her research interests focus on behavioral ecology, ornithology, and lepidopterology. She is actively planning to pursue further academic studies in these fields.

For her research projects before joining SLEP, Dinithi conducted a comprehensive study on the feeding behavior of the Purple Swamphen within dry zone wewa ecosystems, exploring avian behavioral patterns in human-modified landscapes. Beyond ornithology, she is highly interested in butterfly life cycles, entomology, and habitat protection. Dinithi aims to leverage her field experience to contribute meaningfully to wildlife conservation and ecological research across Sri Lanka.
